Which Social Media Platform is Right for Your Business?

PinnedIn, Twittbook, Yelp Plus…. With so many social media platforms it can be hard to keep them all straight. This infographic, which depicts over a hundred social networks and their varied purposes, is enough to make anyone dizzy.  With so many existing and emerging social platforms how do you choose which is the right fit for your business?

Today’s article from SocialMediaToday.com advises us to stick by one simple rule when assessing the right social media channel- don’t reinvent the wheel. Take a look at what businesses are already using successfully and head in that direction.  It’s also important that you don’t just blindly spin the wheel and stick with wherever it lands. This article also features data from Social Media Explorer’s 2012 Social Media Marketing Industry Report.  The report found that three factors effected the popularity of social networks- experience with social media, amount of time businesses had to dedicate to social media, and their market focus. For example, B2B marketeers favored LinkedIn, Twitter, and Blogging while B2C marketers overwhelmingly favored Facebook.  Click here to continue reading the article for more insight on how to pick the best social media platform for your business.
