Tips for Your Business’s Facebook Page

Facebook’s timeline for pages created a hurdle for some small business owners who were unsure how to go about the new layout in a way that conveyed their brand in the best light.  Today’s article from digitalbrandmarketing.com runs through 5 important tips and tricks for how to make sure your business page reaches its full potential.

One of the biggest mistakes to avoid is uploading photos that don’t fit the right dimensions. Your profile picture should be 180×180 pixels and your cover photo should be 851 pixels wide and 315 pixels tall.  Any smaller and your image will get stretched. Your cover photo and profile picture should complement each other, but not be the same.  We suggest using your company logo as your profile image.  The cover photo is where you can get creative. Choose a photo that really represents your brand and conveys your company’s mission in a way that is visually captivating.  Remember, the cover photo is the first thing people see when they land on your page. First impressions are important!

It’s also important to note that Facebook has rules regarding your cover photo. They cannot include calls to action, company contact information, sales promotions, or any other types of promotional language.
