Tips for Tweeting

By April 24, 2024No Comments

A report by Buddy Media shows that many brands are not maximizing their engagement on Twitter.  Many brands are not taking full advantage of the optimal times and ways to tweet.  While this report was done with big brands, many of the lessons can be applied to small businesses as well. Here’s what the report found…

  • Twitter engagement for brands is highest on the weekends. Despite the fact that Saturday tweets get 29% higher engagement, only 7% of tweets studied actually occur on Saturdays. If you’re worried about spending time on social media on the weekends, try using a social media management software to schedule your tweets ahead of time.
  • The ‘tweet spot’ for optimal tweets per day is 4.
  • Tweets with links and hashtags are more likely to get retweeted.
  • Your tweet is 12X more likely to get retweeted if you ask your followers to “RT” and 23X more likely if you use the word “retweet”. Don’t be shy!

If your twitter page isn’t getting as much engagement as you had hoped for, make a few small fixes following the guidelines above.  You can read the rest of the article here for even more Twitter insights.
